So, the first day, the campervan (horsebox according to Kai), is ordered, Le Shuttle booked and we have 1 week to go before we are off. This morning, I went to the library with Kai and Elena and we have armfulls of guides, maps and books to digest.
We are a little nervous of what awaits, but at the same time excited by the whole grand tour. This morning we had the hair-brained idea that Jo would go to Cornwall tomorrow morning, and that we would meet at a pre-agreed camping site next Sunday, before heading for Folkstone and onto the continent.
As for where we are going, the current ambitious plan is to head down to Reims, then Dijon, Annency and the Alps. A few days there, heading through Aosta to northern Italy, (maybe taking in the Top Gear greatest driving road!) and onward to the Adriatic before heading north to end in Prague for Katherine's wedding. (Damn, I still haven't written a speech!)
So, over the next week, we will get some planning done, before heading down south on Sunday 9th August.
lovely city .... I visit to next time
