Forest Adventure

From the lakes we head off, straight in the wrong direction! After a short debate about map reading, we re-trace our steps and head south for Chatillon-sur-Seine with a view of finding somewhere a bit wilder to camp. We head up towards an area of forest and stumble upon an amazing Oak clearing; complete with some nice swings and a big area to run around. Kai immediately spots some enormous bright orange slugs with purple heads, and I point out the poisonous berries to Elena. The BBQ is ceremoniously lit and we settle down for a quiet night in the middle of the forest. That is until about 10 o’clock when a van turns up a couple of hundred yards away, leaves it’s lights on as the occupants clang around with something that sounds like metal bars in the back, they the proceed to disappear into the forest, lights still on) and come back 15 mins later. A woman is sobbing, man comes back and they both drive off. We are well freaked out! Anyway, we wake up in the morning having not been murdered to a fantastic view into the forest.
