So a couple of hours in, we make our first stop on French soil. These rather nice little Aires are like mini parking/campsite areas where you can take a break (on some, empty the chemical toilet *still not nice*), and enjoy the French toilet architecture. We continue on down towards Reims, get a horrible surprise at the Peage (£28 toll road – extortionate – we wondered why the roads were so quiet.), and after a long days driving we are in the centre of the Champagne Region in a place called Chalons de Champagne.
